Should They Give It Up?
You probably heard that Jones gave back the five medals she won at the Sydney Olympics Monday after admitting that she used illegal drugs - including two she won in relay events.
The United States Olympic Committee chairman Peter Ueberroth says Jones' relay teammates should also give back their medals. There have been incidents where the entire team was not punished although one athlete tested positive for illegal drugs, but Uerberroth said this case is "tainted." Not quite sure how this one is different, but ....
"It's our opinion that when any sporting event is won unfairly, it's completely tarnished and should be returned. The relay events were won unfairly," Ueberroth told the Associated Press. "We don't have the jurisdiction on that matter. If we did, we would be on the side of returning the medals."
The USOC has not talked to the other athletes yet about giving up their medals.
Two athletes - Chryste Gaines and Torri Edwards - on the 400-meter relay team with Jones have served doping bans since the 2000 Olympics.
What do you think they should do?

I'm not sure if she should give back her medals but I really want her to fix her teeth!!!
co-sign Andrew. I don't get these rich folks with jacked up teeth?! I'm talking to you Jermaine Dupri. Your girl can get a new nose, cheeks, forehead, breast and God knows what else, but you can't do nothing about them gaps?! We got to do better.
They should give them back. I'm a former track star and I'm not ashamed to say that for at least one relay, we definitely would not have one had it not been for one super fast anchor. Even if Jones didn't have the best time, they don't know for sure if they would have won without her.
First of all--at least win gold if you are gonna cheat--I am unsure if the others should give theirs up--it is such an ugly situation--she should at least apologize to them though...she has apologized to everyone but them.
she probably didn't apologize to them because they probably knew. A cop's partner knows when they are dirty... I'm sure the same can be said for a teammate.
I agree with Andrew. I doubt that they didn't know. Two of her relay teammates have also tested positive.
